Our Story

In 1965, Pastor Chuck Smith began his ministry at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa with just 25 people. From the beginning, Pastor Chuck welcomed all, young and old, without judgment, placing his emphasis on the teaching of the Word of God. His simple, yet sound, biblical approach drew 25,000 people weekly.
With a sincere concern for the lost, Pastor Chuck made room in his heart and his home for a generation of hippies and surfers, generating a movement of the Holy Spirit that spread from the West Coast to the East Coast and that now reaches throughout the world. What began as a small local church has now grown into an international ministry of over 1,800 fellowships both within the USA and internationally.

One of those fellowships was founded here, in Pittsfield Massachusetts, by Pastor Don Roach in 2001. After several years of plowing hard ground in New England with obvious fruit such as a church building, a healthy body of believers therein, and being a part of bringing Christian radio to the Berkshires, Pastor Don and his wife felt the call to move on to Florida to start another work.

Upon their exit, they left the church to Pastor Jason Corbett who is currently serving as the lead Pastor. We look forward to being a part of any work that God may be bringing about, in whatever way He allows, here in the Berkshires of Massachusetts.

We are headed to heaven and called to be busy about our Father's business until that day arrives whether it be by death or rapture. Our Father's business is for us to simply teach the Bible chapter by chapter and verse by verse for the purpose of equipping the Saints for the work of the ministry. We desire to come together as often as we can to encourage growth in our faith through sincere love. We strive to reach out to the community and world around us as an example of the Lord Jesus by serving with the ultimate goal of proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
